Dr. Chu received his Ph.D degree from the National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, in 2006. Under the supervision of professor Fred Chen, he successfully finished the academic-industry collaborative project and developed a novel high efficient inverted bottom-emission OLEDs. He was rewarded as the most valuable researches by Chunghwa Picture Tubes, Ltd. in two consecutive years. He received the invitation to join Samsung SDI(Korea) as a Senior Engineer for the R&D of OLED in 2006. After two years industrial experience at Samsung, he moved to the National Research Council Canada as an Assistant Research Officer in 2008 and focus on the R&D of printable polymer-based organic solar cells (OPV). He received the "Outstanding Research Achievements Award" by NRC-IMS for his achievements in the development of OPV in 2011. He has contributed to more than thirty publications in international journals and conferences, in the fields of organic electronics. He also served as a member of the International Scientific Committee for the world's largest photovoltaic's conference, EU PVSEC, in 2011 and 2012.
